There were 64 consecutive days with maximum temperatures exceeding 30°C (86°F), and 22 days with tem-peratures exceeding 35°C (95°F), the highest number ever.Climate change is undoubtedly occurring, and companies are launching a series of initia-tives to contribute to the global environment. First of all, to reduce CO2 emissions, companies are increasingly introducing power generation equipment that uses renewable energy sources, which is considered to be one of the causes of increased CO2 emissions, and are re-ducing power consumption by simplifying converting processes.Meanwhile, in the materials field, many companies continue to work on mono-materials, recycling, and reducing plastic use, but once again, from an environmental perspective, efforts to recycle processed (consumer-purchased) packages are also being introduced in the Japanese converters. As you know, the environment is not only an issue for the manufacturer, but also for the user. We feel that environmental efforts will not be successful unless we, the consumers, are aware of how to dispose of the packages of food and daily necessities that we purchase on a daily basis. In addition, over the past few years, equipment manufacturers involved in battery-related products such as Lib electrode material coatings and sep-arators for EVs and all-solid-state batteries have been facing a high backlog of orders, with delivery times of two to three years, including for the man-ufacture of general-purpose machines. In addition, the problem is not only delivery time, but also the fact that all personnel are being mobilized to ful-fill orders, and there is a hidden tendency for development to be neglected. With the market for manufacturing already deeply penetrated overseas and the technological innovations of neighboring countries advancing, There is undeniable sense that Japan is feeling a sense of crisis.Japan has matured in the area of good products at low prices, and shop-ping and dining in Japan are very attractive to the rapidly increasing number of visitors from abroad. On the other hand, from our perspective as Japanese, it is becoming harder to produce world-class hit products, and we are keenly aware of the importance of creating rather than manufacturing. Finally, as this is the last issue of this year's quarterly magazine, we wish you happy days for the remaining two months or so of this year and hope that the conflicts in the world will end as soon as possible.Published by:Converting Technical InstituteHead Editorial and Sales Office:VORT Akihabara III 1-23 Kanda-Iwamotocho, Chiyoda-kuTokyo 101-0033, JapanTEL. +81-3-3258-1201FAX. +81-3-3258-1202Email: econvertech@ctiweb.co.jpURL: www.ctiweb.co.jp/eng/Staff:Publisher & Chief EditorShigeo Arakie_publisher@ctiweb.co.jpEditor's Note
