Dexerials' Phosphor Film Receives PHOSPHOR AWARD from the Phosphor Research Society
Dexerials Corporation, which provides leading-edge technologies, materials, and devices for smartphones, automotives, and other products (Headquarters: Tochigi, Japan) announces that it won the 2022 PHOSPHOR AWARD presented by the Phosphor Research Society for its PS Series of phosphor films.
The Phosphor Research Society, The Electrochemical Society of Japan (hereinafter, “Phosphor Research Society”) is a forum for researchers and engineers engaged in research related to phosphors and their applications. They bestow the PHOSHOR AWARD to recognize remarkable achievements in research and development related to phosphors to energize the phosphor field and train human resources. Dexerials’ PS Series of phosphor films won the 2022 PHOSHOR AWARD.
The PS Series of phosphor films in which green and red phosphors are coated contribute to thinner and brighter mini-LED displays (liquid crystal displays with direct LED backlighting). The product makes it easier to control light distribution and enables the entire display to be thinner when it is incorporated in a display unit as blue LEDs can be used as light sources instead of white LEDs. Dexerials’ independently developed sulfide green phosphors in the PS Series of phosphor film achieve vivid luminescence.
The product won the award because of its achievement of brightness greater than quantum dot film, a competing product, due to the previously mentioned properties, its ability to ensure superior moisture resistance and reliability through the special surface treatment of phosphor particles without compromising image quality, and because many finished products employed the product because of its excellent properties and other reasons.
The PS Series is already used in laptops, tablet PCs, automotive displays and other devices, achieving brighter and thinner displays. Dexerials will continue to grow its business by developing products and solutions that support the evolution of digital technologies, including liquid crystal displays.
