"I would like to facilitate visual communication with the people of the Republic of Lithuania and strive for the exchange of perspectives and values."

This is a sentence from the first email we received from Mr. Chijiiwa.
This project was initiated by Mr. Chijiiwa, a photographer who reached out to our company.
Through "photograph" works, the project aims to establish communication with the people of the Republic of Lithuania, with whom we have maintained diplomatic relations for 100 years.
We, as a company that also has a manufacturing base in the Republic of Lithuania, empathize with this desire and collaborated with Mr. Chijiiwa's exhibition using our printing and cutting technologies.

About the Exhibition (excerpt from the press release by Mr.Chijiiwa)

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Lithuania, the M.K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art in Kaunas proposes an exhibition plan that relates the works of Japanese photographer Kodo Chijiiwa to those of Lithuania’s most famous artist M.K. Čiurlionis.
The title of this exhibition “JŪRA YURA” is composed of two homophonic words. “JŪRA” means “sea” in Lithuanian and is pronounced “YURA”. On the other hand, “Yura” means “flicker” in Japanese. The curation is handled by Yolita Rene and the exhibition will be a dialogue centered around the common theme of sea expression by two artists belonging to different generations and cultures.

“The image of Kodo’s photographs conveys to us the vibration of nature and the eternal flow that always continues, which is close to the abstract vision of Čiurlionis’ works. Blessing water as one of the main elements, this continuous flow of life permeates Kodo’s entire work. His quiet image resonates with Čiurlionis’ visual and acoustic creations.” (Excerpt from a contribution by art historian and independent curator Yolita Rene)
