ERA Partners with RecyClass

Munich, February 2024 –The European Rotogravure Association (ERA), a leading international organization in the gravure industry, announces its partnership with RecyClass, a non-profit, cross-industry initiative dedicated to advancing the recyclability of plastic packaging and ensuring transparency and traceability of recycled plastics in Europe.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards achieving a more sustainable future for the plastic packaging industry. Through the integration of RecyClass's Recyclability Evaluation Protocols, scientific testing methodologies, and a range of certifications, ERA seeks to support the progression and broader acceptance of environmentally friendly plastic packaging options throughout Europe.

RecyClass's efforts to standardize the calculation and traceability of recycled plastics, alongside its Recyclability, Recycling Process, and Recycled Plastics Traceability Certifications, are in line with ERA's focus on managing environmental responsibilities and its mission to support the gravure industry and its members.

RecyClass is a non-profit, cross-industry initiative advancing recyclability, bringing transparency to the origin of plastic waste and establishing a harmonized approach toward recycled plastic calculation & traceability in Europe. RecyClass develops Recyclability Evaluation Protocols and scientific testing methods for innovative plastic packaging materials which serve as the base for the Design for Recycling Guidelines and the RecyClass Online Tool. RecyClass established Recyclability Certifications for plastic packaging, Recycling Process Certification and Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification for plastic products.
